Dr. Frawley is well recognized in her field and community for her work with Learning Disabled, ADHD, socially and behaviorally-challenged children to include children and teens with Asperger’s Syndrome and Non-Verbal learning Disability. She is a Licensed Educational Psychologist, practicing School Psychologist, Parent Educator, Staff Trainer, University Instructor & Educational Consultant who as 35 years experience working with children, parents, educators & the medical community. She has been in private practice since 1983, with specialization in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD children, the diagnosis of learning challenged children and providing group therapy programs for children and teens. Dr. Frawley has developed a variety of group therapy programs that enhance children’s and teen’s social & emotional development. She has also developed a group program for children and teens with ADHD which includes parent education and support. Parent educational materials, designed to support generalization of newly acquired skills from the therapy room to the home environment, have also been developed by Dr. Frawley.
The following staff members are highly experienced, qualified professionals who hold a variety of degrees, credentials and licenses in psychology, special education, curriculum development, and counseling.
Kimberly earned her Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology from the University of Central FL. She is also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist with 11 years experience as a school psychologist and 3 years experience as a classroom teacher. Her experience includes participation in a mental health collaborative program with extra emphasis on social skills groups and counseling. Advanced professional training has included social skills training for school age children to include children on the spectrum and Positive Behavior Interventions and supports. At present, Kimberly provides services that enhance academic performance; designs strategies and programs to address problems of adjustment; consults with other educators and parents on issues of social development, behavioral and academic difficulties; conducts psycho-educational assessments for purposes of identifying special needs; provides psychological counseling for individuals, groups and families; and coordinates intervention strategies for management of individual and school-wide crises.
Carla is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 12 years experience designing learning environments for children with Autism and other developmental disabilities. She received her BA degree from the University of Central Florida in Psychology and her MS degree from Florida Institute of Technology in Applied Behavior Analysis. Her experience includes but not limited to teaching in a preschool for children with Autism, co-directing the behavior division for a preschool serving children with Autism and other disabilities, consultation to multiple families of children with Autism and related disabilities, provided educational consultation for several school districts in Florida and California and providing training workshops for parents and professionals. In all of these roles, social skills development was a critical component. Carla enjoys working directly with children and families and believes every child can improve from their current level of performance. If a child cannot learn the way we teach, we must teach the way a child can learn.
Dr. Nutter is an experienced classroom teacher and practicing school psychologist. She holds a Masters of Science in Special Education as well as a PhD in School Psychology from the University of Oregon. She has conducted research in the areas of early literacy acquisition and classroom based interventions for children with behavioral disorders. Dr. Nutter has presented at national conferences on a variety of topics related to literacy, functional behavioral assessments and developing defensible Individual Education Plans. She is also a Research Associate for the Department of Behavioral Research and Teaching within the College of Education at the University of Oregon. Her research focuses on behavioral and academic intervent9iions for underachieving students and classroom-based assessments designed to identify students at-risk for reading failure. Within our practice, Dr. Nutter facilitates group therapy sessions, the Intensive Reading Intervention Program, and conducts psycho-educational evaluations as well as diagnostic reading evaluations.
